Supporting Local Coffee Shops: A Guide To My Top 5 Favorites in New Jersey

Supporting Local Coffee Shops: A Guide To My Top 5 Favorites in New Jersey

Here is my curated guide to some of my favorite locally owned coffee shops around New Jersey that I proudly support. All of these establishments in particular are located in and around Bergen County.

Please shop small and support your local businesses.

  1. Java Love Coffee Roasters

First off, this small collection of artisanal coffee shops with locations in Upper Montclair, Montclair, Suffern, NY, and Bethel, NY, are committed to organic and sustainable coffee blends from around the globe. Set in a rustic and contemporary locale, this is a personal favorite of mine. I highly recommend their excellent iced lattes. Read more about them on their website, browse their wide selection of coffee varieties, and see how their story began at www.javaloveroasters.com.

2. American Bulldog Coffee Roasters

Known right away for their famous logo of the beloved American bulldog, this quaint cafe offers a little something for everyone from artisan coffee blends to seasonal specialties. Sip, munch, and enjoy. With locations around Bergen County and Upstate New York, from Ridgewood (which is where I visit the most), to Ramsey, and Chestnut Ridge, you can have a seat by the crackling fireplace in cozy surroundings and unwind for a little while as the day goes by. Be sure to visit their website at www.americanbulldogcoffeeroasters.com.

3. L’Arte Della Pasticceria

This option is a little different since it is not solely a coffee shop. It is an Italian bakery and cafe serving up classic Italian pastries, cakes, mouthwatering treats, breakfast and savory options, as well as artisan coffee blends set in a contemporary chic locale in Ramsey.

A truly gourmet option for all you foodies out there. I highly recommend ordering the caramel macchiato. Offering strong coffee blend flavor with a balanced hint of caramel sweetness, delicious! For more information, please visit https://www.larte.biz/.

As an Italian-American, I always love finding and supporting local Italian businesses around my community.

4. KTB Coffee Shop and Lounge

This place reminded me right away of the famous ‘Central Perk’ where our six favorite friends enjoyed coffee almost daily in the classic community coffeehouse. KTB has two locations in Bergen County, one in North Arlington and a recently opened location in Hasbrouck Heights. I have been to both and each one is truly distinct from the other in their power to captivate the senses with the inviting aroma of coffee in a casual rustic space.

5. Ridgewood Coffee Company

A classic stop for locals and visitors alike, this popular locale is the ideal place for that artisanal coffee blend set in a rustic, casual corner space. It is located between East Ridgewood Avenue and Van Neste Square Park, a popular walking and leisure area in Ridgewood’s premier shopping, dining and entertainment district. Their specialty nutella latte is a must try! Be sure to visit their sister location in Tenafly. For more information, please visit their website.
