Bay Head & Coastal Wanders
Happy Spring folks! A time of rebirth, (and warmer weather if you live on the East Coast). I decided to take advantage of the nice weather by taking a day trip down to scenic Ocean County and discover the charming town of Bay Head.
Founded in 1886, this lovely seaside community is dotted with locally owned shops and restaurants, eye-catching summer homes, and beautiful oceanfront vistas. Most of the what you’ll looking for is right on Bridge Avenue. It’s the ‘main street’ in town that is small, compact, and quaint making it a easily walkable destination and the gateway to the rest of the elegant shore towns to the north and south, Mantoloking and Lavallette to name one.
Dune Grass Cafe, Mueller’s Bakery and even a Playa Bowls are some of what you’ll find here. Bay Head itself is about an 1:30 hour drive by car from the NYC Metropolitan Area and Philadelphia making it a great place for a day trip or perhaps a long weekend at the Grenville Hotel & Restaurant and The Bentley Inn. For this time around, I wanted to wander some more. Come along and see for yourself!
Pictured above is Charlie’s of Bay Head, a trendy spot for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch.
And you’ll find scenic ocean views from Bridge Avenue beach, among many, in Bay Head. Not pictured, there were also some surfers braving the waves too! Any chance to be by the sea is my favorite thing! 🌊
Charming seaside homes await as well while in Bay Head.
Found this adorable spot in charming Lavallette! Lovely views of the bay.
Thanks for coming along today! ☀️☀️
Until next time on my travels. Be safe and healthy!
